Back to work after Christmas. The new viola is now ready to varnish. The photo shows the purfled back with ground coat applied. This seals the wood, enhances its appearance and improves the sound of the instrument.
I will be at the Royal Northern College of Music, in Manchester form Thursday January 13th to Sunday 16th, along with other makers. Please come and visit my stand, and feel free to try any instruments. I am hoping to have this very handsome viola ready for the exhibition, and on display.
