The pictures show the progress of the new Erdesz cutaway model viola I am making.
The front and back are ready for thicknessing. The edges and outline are still rough, and will be finished when the body of the viola is together in a few days time.
The scroll is cut. It is photographed in front of a superb piece of Bosnian Maple, which will be a very handsome violin in due course. It is one of a dozen matching pieces, including some one piece backs, that are now mature and ready to use.
