The Workshop Open Day on Sunday was a great success. And as promised the cakes ( five different sorts, all homemade ) were superb; there was not much left!
Friends, customers new and old, and neighbours all enjoyed the garden, the workshop, the instruments, and the nice weather. Our first visitor arrived about 11 a.m., and the last left at 7 pm.

This is the back and scroll of my new cello. The instrument is a copy of the 1692 Filius Andrea Guarneri cello in the Royal Academy Collection. The cello should be available in early September.
The back is willow, as the original instrument. This willow is one of three pieces of Pin Knot Willow I bought in 1982, extremely beautiful, and nearly 30 years old. It makes wonderful sounding instruments.
