My recently finished violin writ large at Cambridge Folk Festival, being played by its new owner Tom Moore, of Moore, Moss and Rutter. Tom is a fantastic fiddle player.
This is my new cello, now ready for varnishing. It is a copy of the Guarneri Filius Andrea Guarneri cello in the Royal Academy Collection in London. The original was made in 1692. The back is 29 year old Pin Knot Willow, the original being plain willow. I bought three matching pieces in 1982, and this is the second one I have used; the first made a superb sounding cello. The front is covered in beautiful Hazel markings like the Guarneri. Some of my wood stock is behind the cello.
