My new Guarneri model violin is now being varnished, and will be available in January, and on display on my stand at the Manchester Chamber Music Festival, at RMCN January 13th to 15th 2012.  Please come along and try it.

The pictures show the the wonderfully figured back, its arching, and the treble sides of the ribs and the scroll. The instrument here has only the ground coat applied. This type of ground coat seals the wood of the violin, is essential for the visual depth of varnish in the finished instrument, and for the very carrying sound it will produce. The sides are matching, and from the same piece as the back.
