OPEN DAY 2013
Our Workshop open Day is on Sunday May 26th 2013

All welcome, if only to eat the wonderful cakes!  The Open Day this year is being run in conjunction with Fiddle Daemons, violin restorers.  I will have violins, violas and cellos to try and for sale, along with wood and madder pigments for sale ( see my website ).
The workshop address is :
11 Silver Street, Guilden Morden, Royston, SG8 0JT         Tel 01763 852 377  We are about 12 miles south of Cambridge.

New instruments

The new violin is now varnished and strung.  The varnish is a deep, and transparent glowing red. The instrument sounds very good indeed with a large and very open sound.

 This violin is now available.

My next violin is now half built, and should be finished prior to varnishing in a week's time. Here are two pictures of the from arching from an unusual angle, showing the top cross archings on the back, and a general view of the back. The wood for this violin is very deeply and broadly figured with matching ribs. Wood like this is very rare. I was lucky enough to buy several pieces.
